NORTH CAROLINA STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIR VISITS STANLY COUNTY
North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Randy Voller addressed
an overflow crowd at the Democratic Century Club’s annual summer BBQ held June
6th, 2013 at the home of Darnell and Stefanie Almond in New London.
Bud’s Bodacious BBQ catered the event with entertainment by
the Bluegrass Special Band.
“This is the first time in many, many, years if ever, that
the North Carolina Democratic Party Chair has visited Stanly County. His being
here to address us shows that the Stanly County Democratic Party has become
well organized and is recognized as a valuable asset to our state party” said
Stanly County Democratic Chair Judy Hammil who introduced Chair Voller.”
In his remarks, Chair Voller spoke on the vital part those 35
and under are now playing in the Democratic Party statewide and in Stanly
County. He emphasized that the new and renewed interest of younger voters
combined with the values of those older voters in the Democratic Party is what
makes such a well rounded, all inclusive, Democratic Party today.
“I’m overwhelmed by the crowd and enthusiasm here tonight in
Stanly County. You are an important part of our state party and I will be back”
concluded State Democratic Chair Randy Voller.
North Carolina State Senator Gene McLaurin, District Attorney
Reece Saunders Stanly County Sheriff Rick Burris and numerous members of the
municipal boards throughout Stanly County were in attendance.
The Democratic Century Club does not meet during the months
of July and August. The next dinner meeting will be 6:30pm September 5th,
2013 at Jay’s Downtowner on East Main Street in Albemarle. Guests are always
